The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is the story of 16 year-old Hazel Grace who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She meets Augustus Waters (Gus) at a local support group and they immediately become friends and then start dating. The story follows these to extremely lovable characters and their battles' with cancer.
If you can't tell from this already, I am in love with this book and basically every other book by John Green. This story is addictive and I wasn't able to put it down. John Green has a very distinctive writing style, but this book stands out from the rest of his books due to its unique characters and complex plot. Most of John Green's books follow the story of a teenage boy, so having the main character in this book be a girl makes it instantly stand out from his other books. I also am a huge fan of John Green because he DOESN'T follow the same pattern of basically every other successful YA author out their. He writes his books in present day, with no vampires, aliens, or angles like all the other books in the world. He also does not write his books as a series which is totally different then most of the other books out there. This is suddenly more about John Green then The Fault in Our Stars... You will 100% love this book and fall in love with the characters just like I did. The movie is coming out this summer, I am ecstatic and hoping that it will do this amazing book justice.
